Location
The Lentävänniemi Tram Festival will be held on Saturday, January 4th 2025, from 15.00 to 19.00 in Hiedanranta (Tehdasaukio square, Tehdaskartanonkatu 24, 33400 Tampere). During the event, there will be a sausage serving in Pyhällönpuisto park, in Lentävänniemi. During the event, Festival Trams will operate on the new route. The name of the tram stops closest to the event area are Tehdas A and B.
Hiedanranta
The main event of the Lentävänniemi Tram Festival will be held at Hiedanranta on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 15.00 to 19.00. We recommend using the city’s public transport services to get to the event. You can find routes and timetables in the Nysse journey planner. During the event, a free Festival Tram will operate approximately every 15 minutes between Santalahti and the Lentävänniemi Pyhällönpuisto. You can spot the tram by the “Ratikkajuhla” sign on the destination display. Please note that normal Nysse fares apply for tram lines 1 and 3.
During the event, there will be a free event parking area at Hiedanranta. There is limited parking available in Hiedanranta, and we recommend arriving by public transport. During the event, Lielahti Kartano parking area will not be in use.
Please note that cycling and using electric scooters will be prohibited within the event area during the festival. There is limited parking available in Hiedanranta, and we recommend arriving by public transport. During the event, the Lielahti Manor parking area will not be in use.

Pyhällönpuisto Park
During the Lentävänniemi Tram Festival there will be a free sausage offering (with both meat and vegetarian options) near the Pyhällönpuisto stop. The offering is provided by the Tram Alliance. You can also explore the new art piece, Pyhällönpuiston Eliöt (Creatures of Pyhällönpuisto), in the vicinity of the stop.
A free Festival Tram will operate approximately every 20 minutes between Santalahti and the Lentävänniemi Pyhällönpuisto terminus during the event. You can recognize the tram by the “Ratikkajuhla” sign on the destination display. Please note that normal Nyssen fare rules apply for tram lines 1 and 3.
We recommend arriving at Pyhällönpuisto using the Festival Tram or other public transport services. A free event parking area is available at Hiedanranta.
Fares
The event is free of charge.
The juice at Tehdasaukio and the sausages at Pyhällönpuisto are free of charge.
Accessibility
The event area at Hiedanranta is accessible. The tram stops and trams are also accessible.
Accessible portable toilets are available at both Tehdasaukio and Pyhällönpuisto.
An accessible route to the event area is marked from the Tehdas tram stops and the event parking area. Accessible parking is located in close proximity to the event area, with parking attendants directing vehicles to the designated spots
Please take the winter weather into account.
Please note that the performances include strobe lights/flashing lights and loud noises.
Festival Trams
14.50–19.15 Festival Trams (2 trams) are operating between Santalahti and Pyhällönpuisto.
During the Tram Festival, you’ll get a chance to ride the tram to Lentävänniemi three days before the actual service starts! Hop on one of the Festival Trams at the Santalahti or Pyhällönpuisto stops during the festival. The ride on the Festival Tram is free of charge. Regular Nysse fares apply for lines 1 and 3.
Note: A lot of people are expected to attend the event and not everyone may fit on the tram at once. If that’s the case, just wait for the next Festival Tram. They run about every 20 minutes. You can also get to the Hiedanranta event area using other transport options.
- The Festival Trams (2 trams) will run on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 14.50 to 19.15.
- Throughout the event, you’ll catch a variety of performances onboard in the – expect some surprises!
- You can spot the Festival Trams by signs that say “1R Ratikkajuhla.” The trams are also decorated inside.
- The trams will run about every 20 minutes between Santalahti and Pyhällönpuisto. The first tram leaves from Santalahti and Pyhällönpuisto at 14.50, and the last departure from Tehdas stop (event area) to Santalahti and Pyhällönpuisto is at 19.15.
- The Festival Trams will stop at all the new route stops: Santalahti – Hiedanranta – Tehdas (event area) – Niemen kartano – Niemenranta – Lentävänniemi – Pyhällönpuisto.

Safety
- Arrive at the event only when feeling healthy.
- Remember good coughing and sneezing hygiene.
- In case of emergency, call 112.
- There is a first aid station at the event area. The first aid point can be identified by an ambulance and “EA” signs.
- This is an outdoor event, so please dress appropriately for the weather. The event area is maintained for winter conditions, but be mindful of winter weather challenges, such as potential slipperiness.
- The event will have security personnel.
- The event is smoke-free and substance-free.
