Bee

BEE

Bee (Bertta Seppälä), who’s quickly becoming one of Finland’s most exciting new artists, has made her mark on both radio charts and Spotify. She mixes dark pop and soul in her music, all brought together by her incredible and unique voice. Her debut album Hupsis dropped in September 2023 and shot straight to number one on Finland’s official chart in its very first week.

ILTA

The German-Finnish artist Ilta is really taking off. Her huge hit Kelle mä soitan shot her straight into the top ranks of Finland’s best performers. Known for her powerful and flexible voice, Ilta has also been part of the 2021 UMK and the current season of Vain Elämää. As an artist, she wants to give her listeners what music has given her: a way to feel all kinds of emotions and work through both the highs and lows of life.

DJ ORKIDEA

Tapio Hakanen, aka DJ Orkidea, is one of Finland’s most well-known DJs. He’s played at clubs around the world, and his tracks have garnered millions of streams on music platforms. Over his 30+ year career, Hakanen has also worked as a sound designer and served as the music director for YleX and the Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK).

At the Tram Festival, DJ Orkidea is in charge of the event’s soundscape and audiovisual performances, collaborating with video artist VJ Sellek.

SOMANA RY/ TALVEN TAIKOJAT

In Somana ry’s theatretical play sessions, Talven taikojat Huurre, Hile, Tuisku, and Pyry invite everyone to join in the fun of winter games. Can you transform into an icicle, a dancing snowflake, or hop like a forest hare? Maybe the Talven taikojat will change shape themselves—from a Snow Queen to a giant, or from a snow leopard to a snowman. All you need to join the play is a playful spirit and warm clothing.

Artists at the Festival Trams

DJ JUISSI

DJ Juissi will play Tampere-themed music across various genres to celebrate the new tram route. You can expect for example Nääsville Blues, Koskipuiston kuu, Pispalan Sottiisi, Kalkun orkidea and Etelä-Hervanta. This Manse medley is not to be missed.

As Kari Peitsamo would say: Rockin’ All Over Tampere!

KALLE RUUSUKALLIO’S KELLOT TRIO

Kellot started in 2016 when the musicians ended up at the same gig just before Christmas. On-site, they came up with new arrangements for Christmas songs. Since then, the band has been performing every Christmas in Tampere under the name Joulun Kellot (Christmas Bells). All the members are from Tampere—Ville-Veikko Petsamo, Jarno Härmälä, and Kalle Ikuri. Ville-Veikko Airaniemi is especially known for his work with the band Arppa and collaborations with various artists and genres. Jarno Tikka is a sought-after saxophonist, and his own band OK:KO has been nominated for both the Emma and Teosto Awards. Kalle Ruusukallio is known from TV (e.g., Uusi päivä), theater (TTT, HKT), and as a versatile figure in the Tampere scene.

On the Tram Festival, Kellot will perform atmospheric jazz adjustments of well-known songs.

Host

ROOSA MASKONEN

The Tram Festival will be hosted by Roosa Maskonen, crowned Stand-Up Newcomer of the Year 2023. Roosa is utterly charming, beloved by all, and Keuruu’s gift to Finnish comedy—or really, to the entire world. Despite her gentle demeanor, she often looks at the world and others from above, even though she’s quite short. Her sharp insights and amazing stage presence are sure to delight and amuse. And if they don’t? Well, then it’s time for the audience to do some soul-searching.

In 2023, Roosa became known as the Tram Reporter—or “Ratikka-Roosa”—on Yle Perjantai.
